Newham Community Research Networks CRN

The Newham Community Research Network (CRN) is now well underway, bringing together local organisations and communities to build research that starts with lived experience. Led by Compost London alongside UCL Institute of Global Prosperity and Newham Council, the network is growing across migrant and refugee communities, marginalised women, and young people with SEND.

We offer a wide range of services to help VCS organisations grow.

Are you an ESOL tutor looking to develop your skills? An organisation delivering ESOL classes and keen to reach more learners? Or simply interested in finding out what ESOL opportunities are available in Newham? Join us at our ESOL Drop-In Session at Forest Gate Library. This informal session is a chance to: • Develop your skills and confidence as an ESOL tutor • Connect with other ESOL providers and practitioners • Explore ways to increase your reach and impact as an ESOL organisation, whatever your size • Find out about ESOL classes, conversation clubs, support services and opportunities across Newham • Share ideas, challenges and good practice with others working in the sector Whether you are an experienced provider, a volunteer tutor, or new to ESOL, we would love to meet you. Theory of Change is one of those tools everyone’s heard of, plenty claim to use, but few use well. This practical session cuts through the waffle and focuses on how to build a clear, funder-ready Theory of Change that actually reflects how your work creates change. Jenny will guide participants through: What a Theory of Change really is (and what it isn’t) How to move from activities to outcomes without guesswork Common mistakes that trip organisations up (and how to avoid them) Using Theory of Change to strengthen funding bids, strategy and evaluation
